We aim to rehabilitate and educate mentally challenged children in order to make them capable and skilled to achieve their goals in life.

Asha Kiran Residential School for Mentally Challenged Children is a nonprofit organization established in 1981 in Shivamogga, Karnataka. We run a free residential school in Shivamogga for intellectually challenged children between 1 and 18 years. The school is in the service of educating and rehabilitating children with intellectual disabilities.
Education and rehabilitation are crucial aspects of helping children with intellectual disabilities reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. By focusing on these areas, Asha Kiran Residential School is not only imparting knowledge but also empowering these children to develop their skills and capabilities.

Mission & Vision

OUR VISION

To dedicate ourselves for the welfare of children with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, and associated multiple disabilities by scientifically training them to be self-reliant and socially productive.

OUR MISSION

To develop capabilities and skills so that mentally challenged, economically backward children could achieve their life goals through education, skill development trainings etc.

Programs

Vocational Training

Vocational training is given to enable children to go home as functioning and supportive family member. The children are given various training to garner vocational skills that can help them and their families later on in life. These include skills such as candle making, chalk making, soft toy making, tailoring, paper covers and greeting card making, gardening, computer operation, etc. These skills are honed over a period of time and help the child tremendously. The goal is for children to develop the skills and confidence needed to live independently with dignity and to possess vocational abilities that allow them to thrive within their community.

Programs for Children with Disabilities

At our NGO, we are dedicated to care for children with Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and associated multiple disabilities. Our programs include tailored educational curricula that cater to each child's unique needs and abilities. We provide specialized therapies such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy to enhance their development. Our holistic approach also incorporates recreational activities and social skills training to promote integration and confidence. Through these programs, we aim to empower children with disabilities to achieve their fullest potential and lead fulfilling lives.
